a bright and shiny new year

It really is bright and shiny.

The sunshine is streaming through (desperately in need of a cleaning) windows in our home.

Today, the ornaments will come off of the 2014 tree, I’ll go to my first yoga class of 2015, we’ll watch football, take the puppy for a walk, and enjoy one of our last few slow days together before the chaos of getting back to school and work on Monday.

I am looking forward to the gift of this bright and shiny new year.

What makes it different from each new day we are given?

The turning of a calendar page?

The change of a number?

I’m not sure.

What I do know, is that I wish the best for each of you who come here to visit my little online space in this big, big world.

home is…the same, but different.

bring it!

That’s what I have to say to 2012!

2011 is gone.

Done with.

Or, indifferent.

I am moving forward and focusing on 2012…you should, too!

We can’t change what happened in the past, but we have ALL the control to change our future.

So, first things first…CHANGE your THOUGHTS!

This is my quote to live by for the year…

I have always loved motivational quotes and positive affirmations. This year, one of my goals is to share some of my favorites with you.

Happy 2012!

home is…within myself.

happy new year

My father in law wrote the following poem about the start of a new year being in the fall:

I agree. I always felt that the start of a new year was when school started.

I loved the anticipation of starting school.

I hope I can instill that love of starting something new in my kiddos.

As for the little guy he has been asking for almost two weeks when he gets to start school.

Today was the day.

He was up at 6:30 and said, “Can I go to school now?”

He had a great first day and I know this year will be a fantastic year for him…and our family!

He is in Pre-K at the same fabulous school that he attended last year. I wrote about choosing his school here.

I couldn’t be happier with the choice!

home is…the start of a new year.
