Inspired by this…
I decided to do this…
in our playroom.
I am not handy with a saw and I don’t think we even have a table saw. So, I just glued a 12″ x 12″ canvas to the back of each game board and hung them up on the wall.
Originally, I used our more current game boards.
Then, after thrifting, I found some “vintage” game boards from the 80’s that I liked better.
So, I took the newer game boards off the canvases and put some thrifted ones back on.
I got the canvases on sale at Michaels…7 canvases for $20…so that’s less than $3 a piece.
The Chutes and Ladders, Candy Land and Life games were all found at Goodwill for $1.99 each.
We had the Scrabble and Monopoly games on hand.
So, for about $20, I added some colorful and playful art to our playroom!
home is…being playful.

LOVE IT!! What a great, fun, cool idea!!! Would be super fun if I had a ‘game room’. Maybe the next house will have enuf space 4 a dedicated room 😉 I always love seeing what creative things you have figured out to do with your house!!
That looks AWESOME! 🙂 Super cool!
looks terrific, Steph… can’t wait to see it in person!
I think it looks great, and is making the playroom child friendly, but also decorated nicely and fun.
Very Nice Idea!
I LOVE this idea! May have to copy it in our playroom. I have a really old classic Candyland board that I want to preserve. I think this would be a great solution.
What a great idea! I found your post through Pinterest. I’ve loved the idea of hanging the board games in the playroom, but I’m not handy with a saw either… I love the idea of using a canvas. Brilliant!! Thank you for sharing!
