the being an interior designer part of my bio

Thanks for those of you who gave me feedback on Facebook and the {get moving…} post on Monday.

It sounds like a lot of you want to hear about the “being an interior designer” part of my bio.

It’s interesting to me that most people mentioned that they want me to blog about interior design, yet I get the most visits to my blog on the days when I post {the little guy said…} or a {wordless wednesday}. I’m hoping that by writing about interior design and answering some of your questions you will all visit my little old blog a bit more frequently!

That being said, I will try to make a point to blog about interior design once a week.

I can pick topics that interest me to start, but I would also like to answer your questions or write about topics that are of interest to you…my readers.

Leave an interior design comment or question on this post.

Or, better yet, email me (homeis at stephanytaddeo dot com) a photo and explanation or question about a design dilemma that you have.

I will plan to post about interior design on Friday’s.  I will work on answering your questions, post ideas about what you are interested in, or just share information that I am excited about!

Lastly, any ideas on what I should call my Friday posts about interior design?

If I like your name I will give you credit for it in a blog post. You could become rich and famous!

the planets aligned

At least for me they did!

Here’s how…

1. I am taking the Stroller Strides Healthy Mama Challenge where not only do we get points for attending Stroller Strides classes, but also improving other aspects of our life (Mind, Body & Spirit).

2. I love this blog.  This woman is truly and inspiration.  If you don’t read my blog everyday, read hers!

3. I want to learn more about photography (and challenge myself).  I have an awesome camera (a Nikon D60 that I LOVE!), but would actually like to learn how to take better photos, not just think I do!

4. Through Kelle’s blog I learned about this website. They offer weekly photo challenges AND tutorials!

5. Now I can earn more points for learning something new in the Healthy Mama Challenge!

6. I also have something to blog about today (and, hopefully, on many other days) for the WordPress Post a Day 2011 Challenge (which also earns me points in the HMC)!

home is…the planets aligning, even if it is just for me!

gettin’ my groove on

I had another post already written for today, but I was so excited about what I did last night I had to preempt it. In fact, this post should probably wait for next weeks “get moving…it’s Monday!”, but I just can’t contain my excitement!

I took a dance class last night!  Actually, an exercise class, but it was dance.  No, not Zumba…

…Group GROOVE at ClubSport!

We joined a healthclub at the beginning of the year (maybe that will be my next “GMIM” post), and I have taken full advantage of it. I had planned on taking a yoga class, but saw that Group GROOVE was at almost the same time. Last weekend they introduced the new classes, and I watched a bit of Group GROOVE. It looked like an absolute blast. In fact there was an older gentleman totally rocking out…front and center.  He inspired me.  If he could do it, so could I.  (Truth be told, he was also rocking out in the Group STEP class the next morning…front and center…I need his enthusiasm and attitude!)

So, there I was at 6:30 standing in Studio 1 getting ready to get my groove on.  Or, was it shake my groove thing?!  Either way, I was groovin’!

I recently tweeted that I am adding “learn the Thriller dance” to my bucket list. People, we danced to “Beat It” tonight.  Serious, Michael Jackson style. Now, I stood and watched a lot and probably looked like an uncoordinated fool, but I had so much fun.  I was smiling the entire hour.  I will learn the Thriller dance!

I’m definitely taking this class again.  I’m also going to try a lot of other classes.

By the way, when I was walking out the instructor said to me, “You did great! This was your 2nd time, right!”

I said, “This was my first!”

She said, “Then you really did great!”

Yeah, sure. She just wants me to come back so she can laugh at me again. And, I will.

Don’t be afraid to try something new…EVER.  It is never to late to learn how to dance.

millions of miles away

My sister lost her job yesterday.

She will be employed through the end of the week, but after that she will be searching for a job…again.  She has been through a tough go of it the last couple of years.  In and out of jobs for one reason or another.  She is the breadwinner for her family.  I can’t imagine what she is going through.  And, unfortunately, we don’t talk often enough for me to know.  I actually found out about her job loss on Facebook before I checked my email and read a short email that she sent.

I’m feeling pretty helpless about the whole situation.  Not only am I 1200 miles away, but I feel millions of miles away because we just don’t communicate anymore.

get moving…

It’s Monday!

It feels like a Monday, but I am reminding myself that I am going to be positive on Monday and get moving.  Monday, show me your stuff!!

So, this morning we will be headed to a Stroller Strides class, stopping by Target, coming home for some lunch, maybe heading over to Clubsport so I can sit in the steam room and take a shower….and then who knows what?!

I promise to give more to my posts this week.  Last week, it was hard to stick with “post a day 2011”, but I did it!  I don’t have a plan for my posts this week, but hope to have a little about the kids, a little about life, and maybe even a little about design.

Anything that you would like to know about me?  My family? Design?  Just leave a comment and let me know!

time for theraflu

I’m happy for this week to be over.

I was sick.  And, now I am sick of being sick.

Before kids, I used to be able to call in a sick day, lay in bed and sleep, take medicine, and get over the bug sooner rather than later.  With kids, we pass the sickness around, barely get time to rest, and it feels like a simple headcold lasts for weeks.

Thanks to my husband, I got to sleep in until after 8 this morning.  I was also able to get a 5+ mile run in.  I am on the mend.

Now it is time for me to take some Theraflu and hit the sack.

home is…hoping for a week with no colds.

being a diva

Well, technically, a former diva.  We called ourselves diva’s at the design firm where I worked before I left to be a stay-at-home-mom.  I don’t exactly know how it started as I began after the fact (maybe one of the original diva’s can fill in the blanks).  In the last couple of years some of us have left, some of us have stayed, and some new diva’s have come along.

Last week, we had a diva night.  Needless to say, it was too much fun…

a recipe…

Well, here is my first go at sharing a recipe.  Nothing fancy, but it is an awesome salad dressing.  I have to admit, I stole it from a friend.  So, if you read this Susan, thank you for sharing your recipe…we have used it and shared it often!

Equal parts of the following:

Tahini

Olive oil

Lemon juice

Soy sauce

Mix well.
